| I think it after I saw Bambi, and realized animals can talk just like
people. Of course, I like the side effects of having a healthier body and a
healthier planet. |
| 4.What (if anything) do you find hard about being vegetarian? |
| Uncooked water chestnuts. Those are hard. Oh, and I feel guilty when I bite
my tongue...

| 5. Do you find that you feel better or worse since going vegetarian? |
|
Better. But that's probably just the organic beer talkin'. |
| 6.What about animal rights do you have any thoughts on that? |
| They have as many rights as we do, except I think they can pray in school.

| 7. How far do you go? Do you wear leather?Visit circuses?Etc? |
| I go right up to the McDonald's window, then turn around. I do wear leather
at certain times that are none of your business, but I've sworn off eating
leather entirely.
I have a five-year old and 10-month old daughters. I live in a circus. Etc? Probably. Tell me more. |
| 8.What about family and friends are they understanding of this lifestyle? |

Friends are supportive until we try to order a pizza together. My parents
have stopped asking "if I'll try just a tiny bite." My wife is a
vegetarian, except when she's pregnant.

| 9.What are some dumb things you hear from non-vegetarians? |
|
"Was that your foot?" "No offense, but." "Yap! Yap Yap Yap!" (not sure what my dog's saying, but I'm sure it's dumb) |
| 10.Tell the readers about your cartoon series Speed Bump. |
| It's a one panel cartoon that's in more papers than you can shake a shtick
at. There are no continuing characters because I prefer to kill them off
for their hides.

| 11.Do you plan on doing any more comics talking about vegetarianism? |
| Yes. And more cartoons about talking vegetarians.

| 12.Do you have any new projects coming up in the future? |
| Yes, illustrating a children's book called "Buffalo Shame" written by Pat
Fish (The Jazz Butcher). I'll be taking a reader poll to see if I should
paint our kitchen.
And the first Speed Bump compilation book just came out, available at all
stores and online.

| Mr. Ed and Tweety.

| 15.What are some of your favorite things to eat? |
|
All pasta. All fruits. Kroger brand tortilla chips. Indian food that's not
too spicy and has some raisins in it. Raisins are good food. |
| 16.What would you like to tell others about going Vegetarian? |
| I think it's a distinctly personal decision, like religion or Presidential running mates. I would only hope they come to the same conclusion as me independently. |
